An audiovisual collaboration in which Gábor Skultéti (Skalle) created an independent visual world around a GONAGRA sound composition. Two artistic perspectives meet at the intersection of sound and image.
Creator's note by Gábor Skultéti (Skalle)
Eversince I was a child, I was always interested in the cosmos. Knowing that there is a vast universe over our horizons, distances that we could never traverse even by going at the speed of light, brings shiver down my spine. There are stellar objects in the dark, so huge and/or dense that they break the laws of physics, bending the light in their proximity while absorbing every matter. Such object is a black hole, which acts by the rules mentioned above. Visualizing it is a difficult task, since we do not know their actual appearance, but we can estimate.
In this piece you are an astronaut, flying way too close proximity to the black hole, while experiencing the doppler effect. In 3D rendering it's possible to bend the light with close accuracy to visualize gravitational lensing. If you look close enough, you can see the whole universe behind the black hole.
